About me

Hi, 

I would like to introduce myself briefly. My name is Krystallo. I was born and grew up in Athens, Greece. I have been deaf since birth. I am a mother of twins, Eleni and Rafael. When my husband, Christian found a new job here in the US, my family and I moved here in May of 2011. Previously, my husband and I had lived here in the US together for a few years. The USA are a great country to live in! 

The main reason why I decided to create this blog is that I found myself losing track of all the great recipes, crafts and book lists that I have come across over the course of the years. So, why not have a handy tool for keeping everything together and sharing useful stuff with the world at the same time?

Well, English is not my first language, but I will try my best to express my thoughts and feelings in English, and possibly in ASL, when I have time. 

At the moment, I am a stay at home mother, and I love to spend my time with Rafael and Eleni. Raising kids is challenging and fun at the same time. Apart from being a housewife, I hold a diploma in Computer Science from the University of Athens, and a MS degree in Deaf Education from McDaniel College. My favorite field of study and work is instructional technology for deaf students. But recently I have been obsessed with an idea of setting up my own business. When Eleni and Rafael are ready enough to go to a public school, I will select a professional path that fits my personality better. 

My hobbies are: Reading, swimming, biking, cooking, crafts,  TV shows and movies, and ...Facebook. I will try to limit my time using Facebook, because I believe that there are more important things to do for myself and my family rather than gazing cross-eyed at the screen. When the kids are present, I rarely use Facebook.
